This is a beautiful blue Jala silk saree with dongria border (continuous triangles representing hills of indigenous Dongria Kondh tribe of Odisha). Jaala work (a special type of needle work technique done entirely by hand) is done on anchal intricately. The anchal has various motifs such as pairs of fish , turtles , peacocks and many more. The Khandua weavers have made this unique piece with lot of love with their dexterous skilled hands. Such a Khandua looks elegant beyond imagination!

👉 Khandua normally refers to SINGLE IKAT patterns woven by tie & dye technique in Nuapatna cluster.

👉 However, since earlier times, the Khandua weavers have also perfected the art of Jaala or a special needlework technique done by hand.

👉 The geographical region of Khandua produces such jaala over mulberry silk, apart from the Gopalpur Tussar cluster, where jaala is done over tussar fabrics.

👉 Thus this lovely deep blue silk has been clubbed under the Khandua Love Collection!
