Weavers are distributed in Bargarh, Boudh, Sonepur, Bolangir, Nuapada & Sambalpur & some parts of Dhenkanal, Kalahandi, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda districts where Meher community reside. For weaving, traditional pit loom with throw/fly shuttle technique is used. Varieties are Sonepuri, Pasapali, Bomkai, Sachipar, Bichitrapuri, Bapta (Cotton & Silk mixed) etc, saree.

Forests are an integral part of Odisha geography, history and culture. That too with big lions occupying major spaces in this brilliant saree! Our classic master weavers have woven such forest animals on limited, masterpiece sarees! This is one such gorgeous piece, never to be missed!
