Ramachandra Pedi Bright Green Saree

This inspired Ramachandra Pedi is a beautiful phoda technique saree. This has been done in Nuapatna weaving village from high quality tussar silk (warp) and 4 ply mulberry Bangalore silk (weft). These sarees have captured imaginations of worldwide handloom saree lovers for their exquisite work. 

This particular exclusive weave in beautiful bright green color with lines across body and temple borders is a stunner, with the special anchal made by phoda or needlework technique. Each motif is made with a different color thread painstakingly by hand. This is known as Ramachandra saree as all the favorite motifs of Lord Ram as woven on the saree's anchal such as Sankha (Conchshell), Padma (Lotus), Chakra (Wheel) and Squirrels. Squirrels are much loved of Sri Ram as even these small humble creatures had helped build the bridge to Lanka!
