Nuapatna’s weaving origin traces back to 12th Century AD and it is closely associated with Lord Jagannath Temple rituals at Puri, Odisha. This is the weave of single largest cluster of Odisha at Nuapatna with 10,000 weavers present with approx 6000 looms. This is yellow with grey single ikat pasapalli work. Nuapatna specialises in single ikat. Method of production of this suit piece:The tie and dye or 'bandha' is done beforehand for hundreds of metres by two to three weavers together. Then it is dried and set together for several hours by painful mathematical precision of the weavers by hand. This is a yellow body with ikat done in grey color. The dupatta has also temple bandha work border woven on it, with flower ikat at ends. Go for this beautiful, high quality yardage at a very affordable rate and stun everyone around you!
