More sculptures are being excavated everyday- proof of the fact that Kalinga or Odisha has been a thriving Buddhist centre from which Buddhism spread far and wide thanks to her brave sailors, kings and people. Even Chandasoka – the evil Asoka, transformed into Dharmasoka or Asoka the Great after the Kalinga War and was the biggest proponent of Buddhism after that.Emperor Asoka surrenders to the Buddhist monks…symbolic of him embracing Buddhism after Kalinga War.
