The Kondh tribe of Odisha boasts a culture deeply intertwined with the natural world, reflected in their occupations and craftsmanship. Renowned for their expertise in sericulture, they cultivate and weave tussar silk, a traditional craft passed down through generations. Additionally, their woodwork is highly regarded, showcasing intricate
designs and motifs inspired by their surroundings. These skilled artisans create a wide range of wooden artifacts, including utensils, ornaments, and ceremonial objects, each reflecting the tribe's reverence for nature and their mastery of traditional techniques.They inhabits the hilly terrains of the Eastern Ghats, embodying a rich cultural heritage and a deep connection to their land. With traditions rooted in animism and nature worship, they practice sustainable agriculture and maintain close-knit community ties. Despite facing challenges like land encroachment and loss of cultural identity, the Kondh people persevere, striving to preserve their traditions and protect the biodiversity of their ancestral lands.
This is our home collection inspired from the Kondh Tribes of Odisha. We have used silk for our overall collection. Designed,woven and stitched with the help of our design intern, master veaver of Nuapatna and master tailor present in house.
