Pittala Cotton Sarees are woven in the villages of Pittala and Padmanabhapur in the Ganjam district of Odisha. The single ikat (tie and dye) designs on the anchal and borders are created by weavers from Nuapatna. These are then purchased by the weavers of Pittala and Padmanabhapur to weave the sarees. Made from 80-count cotton, these sarees are single cotton (non-mercerised) and known locally as suta luga. Soft and comfortable, they are ideal for everyday wear and come with a running blouse piece. We encourage handloom lovers to support these humble creations and buy them in greater numbers!
